Vendis Capital is an independent private equity firm focussed exclusively on the consumer space. Vendis invests alongside experienced entrepreneurs and managers in growing small and medium-sized companies with a strong consumer proposition (“building brands together”) and main decision centre in France, the Benelux, Germany and Scandinavia.  So far, Vendis has made 18 investments (+add-ons) including Pranarôm, eyes+more, Yarrah, Fatboy, Alpine and L’Atelier d’Amaya.  The team currently manages two fully invested funds (VCI, €110m and VCII €180m) and has recently completed the fundraising for the third fund (VCIII, €300m).  The team currently consists of 16 people of different nationalities, spread over three offices in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.  We gladly refer to the website (vendiscapital.com) for further information.

Job Description

You will work in a small team of talented investment professionals and you will be centrally involved in the appraisal of potential investment opportunities (both quantitative and qualitative).  In cooperation with the team you will be involved in all steps of the investment process:

  • Deal origination: analysis of industries, mapping interesting companies, (initial) analysis of opportunities, meetings with entrepreneurs;
  • Transaction execution (entry and exit): strategic assessment, business plan writing and assessment, due diligence (financial, commercial and legal), deal structuring, financing, negotiations, pricing mechanisms, (LBO) modelling, writing investment memoranda;
  • Follow-up of investment portfolio: reporting and controlling, systems and organisation, financing and bank relations, buy- and build and acquisitions, selected strategic topics.

Skills and experience

To apply, candidates should show:

  • a high level of motivation and a strong interest in entrepreneurship, strategy and finance;
  • 1-4 years of experience in strategy consulting, m&a, transaction services or private equity
  • a master degree in finance/economics/business or engineering/science completed with academic excellence;
  • fluency in English (spoken and written) and native tongue Dutch, French or German;
  • commitment to excellence and rigour in analysis;
  • tenacity to getting things done.
