I started my career in 2019 as an M&A and corporate lawyer at Stibbe, advising on both buy- and sell-side M&A transactions.
‍

This experience gave me a strong foundation in legal drafting, navigating complex agreements and managing projects. Working closely with private equity clients allowed me to get to know the industry from the inside.
‍

I later moved to the Federation of Belgian Notaries as a legal advisor in corporate law, where I deepened my technical expertise and was able to engage with complex corporate questions from a different angle.

In 2022, I joined Vendis to return to the private equity environment that had first sparked my interest. What excites me most today is the intellectual challenge of the role, being involved as ideas and strategies develop and helping translate them into action within a firm where that contribution can truly make a difference.

Outside of work, I recharge through time with my family, good food, classical music and sports.

I did not grow up dreaming of a career in finance. Like so many students, I had no fixed future career image at that time. I however always had a keen interest in law and economics, which I ended up studying both.  What started as academic curiosity gradually evolved into a clear professional direction built on a strong passion for entrepreneurship, investing and building companies.  That passion led me to start my career in private equity, where I found the perfect combination of analytical rigor and hands-on involvement.

What continues to attract me to private equity is the opportunity to help companies grow and to actively contribute to their development. Building something meaningful — especially in challenging circumstances — is what truly motivates me.  Over the years, I have learned that change and growth are never linear journeys; they are processes of ups and downs. What matters most is the perseverance to continue when you genuinely believe in the vision. It takes hard work, dedication and teamwork - qualities I admire in the people I work with and strive to achieve for myself.

Outside of work, I am happily married and the proud father of three lovely daughters.  I recharge outdoors and like to keep active. Both in summer and winter, I love to be in the mountains. And on Sundays, you can count on finding me cycling through the Flemish Ardennes in the morning and in the afternoon cheering on KAA Gent towards a second championship title, hopefully sometime this century…

I’ve always been drawn to numbers. Maths felt like a language I instinctively understood, which naturally led me into finance. But it is the stories behind the numbers that fascinates me most. Every spreadsheet reflected a series of choices, ambitions, setbacks, and turning points.

I began my career in M&A advisory in London, working with founders and management teams at different stages of growth. Being exposed to so many companies shaped my curiosity and pushed me to specialise in the European consumer space: a world that constantly evolves alongside changing preferences and behaviours. I was drawn to its dynamism and the way brands must continuously adapt to stay relevant.

My move to the investment side came after working closely with Vendis for six months. What started as a project turned into a shift in direction. I felt a strong cultural fit with the team, and I was keen to move from advising on the sidelines to partnering directly with companies and contributing more actively to decisions and value creation.
‍

Today, I’m most energised by helping companies unlock real value and seeing ideas translate into sustainable growth. Outside work, I recharge with family, travel, and mountaineering and experiment with making my own gelato.

I’ve always been drawn to brands, constantly looking for the coolest ones and the next brands coming up. Growing up in both Suriname and the Netherlands, I saw how people interact differently with brands and what makes certain brands resonate with some but not with others. Those early observations, combined with learning to connect with people from different backgrounds, shaped the way I approach work and the kinds of companies I’m excited to build.

Starting my career in investment banking, I learned what drives a good business, doing deals and seeing what it takes for a company to reach its full potential. I moved to private equity, drawn by the opportunity to work on the full value creation process, defining the strategy and helping companies to execute on it. Along the way, I realized that understanding people, how they connect with brands and what drives their choices, is at the heart of growth. That insight has guided my work ever since: building strong teams, nurturing long-term relationships, and helping brands grow by staying true to their core values while adapting to the fast-changing world.

I’m passionate about finding niches and brands of the future and supporting their growth in ways that genuinely impact people’s lives. Outside of work, I like to stay busy by traveling, running, playing padel, trying new restaurants with friends, and spending time with my family.

I got interested in investing early. When I was around ten, my father bought my first stock for me: Chrysler. What stuck wasn’t the tickers symbol, but the realization that you could own part of a real business. That idea: ownership, responsibility and long-term thinking, never really left me.
‍

I started out in a large generalist asset manager, investing in listed companies. It was a rigorous environment and a great training ground. But I increasingly felt that distance from the real drivers of value creation. As a minority shareholder in public markets, you analyze from the outside. I wanted to be closer to the decisions, closer to the people building the business, and closer to the long-term strategy. I also became convinced that specialization matters, that to be genuinely helpful as an investor, you need to deeply understand the sector, the consumer, and the brand dynamics.

Joining Vendis allowed me to specialize and to work in an ownership model where responsibility and influence are clearer. I was drawn to the breadth of the role: analytical rigor, strategic thinking, negotiation, and above all, working closely with people. What energizes me is partnering with founders who have built something distinctive, a product, a community, a brand that resonates and helping them scale it thoughtfully. It requires clear priorities, strong teams, and honest conversations. I see my role as a committed partner: challenging when needed, supportive always, and aligned around long-term value creation.

Today, what excites me most is partnering with founders and managers who have built remarkable brands and are still hungry to grow. Expanding our presence in Germany feels like an opportunity to build something meaningful over time. Outside of work, my three kids keep me humble and practical. Running and tennis keep me disciplined. Both are good reminders that endurance, not shortcuts, is what ultimately wins.
