ferm LIVING is a Danish design brand founded in 2006 by creative director Trine Andersen.
The Ferm brand stands for inspiring, quality designs in honest materials with an ever increasing commitment to ethical and sustainable practices
Since its founding, ferm has focused on developing its accessories and kids categories, whilst marking footprints in the furniture and lighting segments. The brand launches 100 new unique products annually, building on a universe of over 1.400 SKUs.
Through carefully selected influencers and an effective PR-strategy, ferm managed to create brand awareness and strong appeal to a global audience of mainly female customers. Early on, the brand has had a broad international reach, with sales in 68 countries. Accounts are managed locally through an own sales force and a network of agents and distributors. The brand has strong digital resonance, both from a brand perspective as from a distribution strategy with more than 40% of sales realized purely online.
Vendis took a majority shareholding in the company alongside Trine, who transitioned to a creative role, and the management team.
Vendis Capital invested in ferm in February 2016 and sold the company at the end of 2020 to Maj Invest.
